Mike Skinner (The Streets)
The band The Streets, led by Mike Skinner, is considered one of the most important and influential voices in British culture.
Recently released album The Cool Tape Volume 3 with singles 'Falling For You' featuring Justin Bieber and 'Cabin Fever'.
Jaden will be joining Justin Bieber on his 2021 World Tour from February 2022 - June 2022.
Jaden is involved in a number of philanthropic causes, including his I Love You vegan food trucks to feed the homeless and his Water Box initiative, which deploys water filtration systems to underserved communities to give them access to clean water.
At only 10 years old, Jaden developed the concept for JUST Water, a 100% recyclable water carton company that he co-founded and created to help replace single-use plastic bottles. Since its inception, JUST Water has kept nearly 4.4 million pounds of carbon from being released into the environment.
Jaden is an avid activist and fights to empower Gen Z on topics such as: climate change, sustainability, reducing ocean plastics, clean water, voting, and access to education.
- Skinner became a worldwide touring attraction with a reputation as an accomplished showman and legendary shows and festival appearances. In 2024, he is set to play world renowned festivals and venues including Glastonbury, Boardmasters, Big Smoke Festival, Isle of Wight, Kendal Calling, Truckfest, Werchter, Elbjazz - as well as big headlining shows of his own in Amsterdam, Berlin, Luxembourg, Birmingham, Brighton and Halifax.
- Along with an exciting tour schedule this year, Skinner will release a special mixtape album.
- 2023 saw the first The Streets album in 12 years, "The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light," alongside a feature film sharing the same title, a noir thriller set in London Clubland, which Skinner has written, directed, filmed, edited, and starred in.
- A Top 20 debut single, "Has It Come To This," led to the landmark "Original Pirate Material," a rap record with a British accent and UK-centric subject material, melting influences from hip-hop to garage and house music, produced solely by Skinner on his laptop. The Streets' 2nd album, "A Grand Don't Come For Free," hit Number 1 on the UK Chart as "Dry Your Eyes" became Skinners' first Number 1 single.
- Skinner has been in the studio with the likes of Giggs, Kano, Pink Pantheress, Chris Martin (Coldplay), and Fred Again, who released the collaborative track "Mike (Desert Island Duvet) to great acclaim in March 2023.
- After 5 albums, Skinner suddenly retired The Streets in 2011 and took a more low-key approach with new musical projects, becoming a successful and sought-after bassline/grime/rap DJ and directing music videos, short films and branded content for brands including Hennessy, Alexa Chung, Reebok, Kopparberg.
- An Instagram post in 2017 sparked a frenzy as Skinner returned with The Streets for a tour and the mixtape "No One Is Getting Out Of This Alive," a collection of collaborations with the likes of Tame Impala, Ms. Banks, Donae'o and Idles that hit Number 2 in the UK Charts.
